Director’s Monday Note
As the year sparkles toward its close, my heart is full of gratitude for this incredible community. The holiday season in Story City reminds us just how special it is to live, work, and gather in a place where people truly show up for one another.

From festive events and twinkling lights to shared laughter, warm conversations, and familiar faces on Main Street, this season has been a beautiful reflection of community spirit in action.  Thank you to our volunteers, board members, businesses, sponsors, and residents who continue to bring energy, kindness, and creativity to everything we do. You are the heartbeat of Story City.

As you celebrate the holidays, I encourage you to shop local when you can, support our small businesses, and spread a little extra cheer along the way.
Every purchase, every smile, and every moment of connection helps keep our community strong and thriving.

Wishing you a joyful, cozy, and festive holiday season filled with peace, gratitude, and a whole lot of community pride.
Here’s to closing the year with cheer and stepping into the new one together ready to keep making Main Street magic.

Warm holiday wishes,

Shanon McKinley
Chamber/Main Street Director
