Jayson Kerr Dobney is the Curator of Musical Instruments at the Metropolitan Museum of Find Arts. His program will include stories of the museum, some of the connections he has made in the Rock & Roll world, and some of the special exhibitions he has created for the museum which has included musicians instruments, such as Ringo Starr’s gold snare drum and guitars owned by Steve Miller. 

Dobney is the nephew of Library Director Kolleen Taylor. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance and Music Education, in addition to a Masters of Music with a concentration in the History of Musical Instruments from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion.   A Presidential Scholar at USD, he received a fellowship to the MET in 2003-2004, and was hired full-time in 2007 as Associate Curator and Administrator of the Department.
